Irritants (to Horni)

Just woke up from power nap, but still feeling sleepy, hence, I shall blog. (Reading HRM reading is tiring.)

I think the world is changing, people (especially the younger generations) are disregarding manners and consideration for others. Here are some irritating actions I've noticed.
  1. People no longer wait for others to exit before entering (for lifts and MRTs)
  2. People are no longer thankful for the kind bus uncles who waited for them while they strolled to board the bus. (Will it kills them just to say a simple "thank you"? What the...)
  3. People talk and laugh loudly in libraries, worse of all, DESPITE REPEATED requests from other library users to lower down their volume (Sure, they can make noise, but at least choose the appropriate location)
I heard a guy deliberately whistling LOUDLY in the library today. XYZ.
  4. People eating in MRTs (pls leh.. It should be a common knowledge that we can't eat in MRTs)
  5. Singaporeans bad-mouthing about Singapore in front of foreigners. (I have once seen a guy in MRT telling his friend from France that Singapore food sucks. Please loh! Send him to France and see if he will miss our Char Kway Teow! Moreover, will it kill him to portray a good image to our foreign friends for just a few days? People like him kills our tourism industry!) and ya, I am nationalistic. :) (Though I seldom watch our NDP, neither do I hang out the Singapore flat every year.)

Sure, I am not perfect myself, but shouldn't we all improve ourselves to be more graceful friends/ family/ citizens/ public?

Updates:
I saw a PRIMARY SCHOOL girl SPITTING in the BUS today!! She was sick, and she went *cough cough cough pui* repeatedly. And you didn't read wrongly. She did spit on the bus as in left her spit on the bus, without tissue or anything, just spit! OMG!!! I wanted to confront her but was a bit scared that she will spit on me instead, so I chickened out.

Seriously, I think the children nowadays are outrageous.

Today marks the last lesson for my Management Accounting!

Today I had my last lesson for my MA! No more MA lessons for me anymore! Whee~ The class was supposedly to be from 12-3pm and guess what time we were released?! 4.30pm!!! Gosh!! But I seriously enjoyed the whole lesson even though James Kwan still screamed at us for not answering his questions.

Anyway, James Kwan is really crazy! I think he 走火入魔 le. HAHA! He keep telling us that he go ask the FR lecturer how many questions he gave his classes, etc but in actual fact he's both FR and MA lecturer. I dont know how to say it here but if you listen the way he says is damn funny! He even did a small test! He sms-ed 2 groups of ppl asking them to jiayou and push all the way at abt 3-4am. Each grp got 10ppl each. 1 grp from his ACCA class and another grp from UOL. Under the UOL grp, he sms-ed 5 taking MA and 5 taking FR. And his conclusion from his small test, 8 out of 10 ACCA students replied him and only 6 UOL(5 from FR and 1 from MA) replied him while the rest replied the next morning. He say from this test he can conclude that who's mugging real hard in the middle of the night and who's slping away! HAHA! (But anyway I think his test not accurate. Who knows maybe those replied not mugging ah, they could be wawa-ing and those who replied next morning are those kind that slp early, wake up early de? LOL!)

Ok, anyway after class, he told those that didnt do his essay to go off first while those who did stay behind. This essay was optional. You can choose to do or not. I DID! =D The question was to write a report to the management/directors explaining what The Balanced Scorecard is all about. Then he showed someone's work and tell us that a format is needed if we were to write a report and then he showed the next person's work who did not have the format. AND THAT WAS MY WORK! SIAN! zzz... Xiaojun nearly ROFL! I instantly turned red la! GRRRR! Where got so heng de?! But I'm Chan la. So think my script was really in front. =( That is what is bad abt having the surname, Chan. (And not only that, everyone will call you Chan Mali Chan too! o.O)

I'm digressing. But anyway, previously JK told us that he will give us a present each for those who did his work and he did! But it was not in monetary terms. It's an intangible present! When I see the present I really got sweet dao leh!

Here's the present he got for us!!!!

Yes. It's just a mindmap for one of the chapter of MA as you can see from this pic. But it's in A3 lo! Everything he helped us list out properly. All the comparisons he also listed down there. Really his blood and sweat leh! He even blow it up to A3 cos he thinks that it will hurt our poor eyes if it's in A4! I really got the sweet dao feeling when I first see it as he project on screen. He's really one of the best lecturers in SIM although he's so strict on us and gives us never ending work. I mean which lecturer will give 50 questions for just 1 chapter? LOL!

I think I'm really gotta miss James Kwan when I graduate. He's gotta be one of the most vivid memories I have in SIM. HAHAHAHA!

But here comes the most shocking part! We went down to library's photocopy room to photocopy FR's answers and guess what we saw?! The mindmap that JK gave us like 5mins ago is already photocopied and left at the photocopy uncle there! You just have to pay 10cents for a copy!!!! WTH!!! Who's the idiot that left it there for the uncle to photocopy? I dont tink is JK since he put so many copyright wordings on the mindmap and he's the kind that you never do = too bad you cannot get answers/presents.

Sigh. I really think I'm gotta miss James Kwan's lessons. HAHA! But tml's there's FR revision class! More James Kwan! LOL! I'm going crazy. (ignore me!)

*edit*
WAH!!! Corni! Your dream is sooooo lame!!! But I dont mind eating maggi mee on stage lo! It will be even better if Mayday sat down and eat with us!!! Muahahaha! How come you guys keep dreaming abt Mayday while I didnt!!!!! Jia and Joy also dreamt of MD liao! The one and only thing I dreamt abt them was that they were on cover for iweekly! Grrrr!

MSM UOL Revision Survival Guide

Corni and Horni will be having their revision next week.

And I just had mine few days back.

A little bored now, so thought I'll share about my class and come up with a list of what to expect during his revision.

Initially I thought I got kaki for my class - David.

Even told him I won't mind sitting with his friends...

Xiang-a-zai....

He got like over 10 frens...

Even book seats gotta book 2 half rows of 15 seats. =/

Feels so outnumbered. Haha...

But ok lah, got to know some new friends.... And some Godly people too...

One of David's friend got 25 for the Strategic Choice Question.

You say Godly anot lah!

Then there was this other girl who got 23!!!

Erm David only got 1 mark, cos he only wrote 1 line haha...

But still he's equally freaky... Cos the other 3 section B questions he got 25 21 21.

The most "impressive" thing was.....

He only used 5 pages of the answer booklet!

He even attempted to solve the DEA (we only need to formulate) to make up 5 pages. =/

(Joy may know his handwriting is small until...... He can do 4 decision tree questions on 1 page of foolscap... you get the idea....)

Who sit beside him in exam very sway. Cos sure cannot copy. Haha.

Moving on to Beasley...

He's a real funny guy. Super drama mama (papa).

I'm like laughing away half his lesson...

Here are some things to do in his class.

1. Earn $10
He started my class by playing a song. And the first person who guessed the title correctly wins $10.
The song is All you need is love by Beatles...

After that game, he kept telling us "All you need is 34 - by Beasley"

Anyway...

Here's the youtube link to the song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLxTpsIVzzo

Go guess the title of the song and win that $10! If you do I'll expect a 10% commission for this piece of superior information =p

2. Bring more foolscap
Questions from the mock paper will be given in a handout, together with a few extra questions. But you will need to copy the solutions down... There is not much space in his handouts so foolscap paper is a safe bet.
PS: Remember to bring some graph paper and long ruler too! Will be helpful.

3. Familiarise yourself with his acronyms
He uses a lot of that in class. So pay particular attention to what they stand for in the first hour in class. For example CAO means Correct Answer Only.

4. Enjoy the SNOW!
He tears up pieces of paper into shreds.....

And then throws high up into the sky....

Let it snow let it snow let it snow....

(Wool jackets are not necessary)

5. Avoid the first 3 rows in the LT
He loves to throw the subject guide to bring some point* across. So far there's no casualties, but unless you're wearing a helmet, it's best to avoid the first 3 rows.

*Go see for yourself. I'm saving the spoilers.

(I told you he's very drama)

6. Look out for other people's mistakes on scripts.
He has a practice of showing mistakes from other people's scripts...
Some scripts are real funny...
Corni's script was shown... But no worry, it's a small mistake for yours :)
In case you're curious and kanchiong, no worry. He just said you should write them in order, cos the markers will be looking out for answers in that ABCDEFG order.
He told us the your script is the 1679th script he is marking, it's late into the night, there's a tight time constraint, and he's into his 4th bottle of wine...

Basically, point is : Make things easy for examiners (you won't know when you'll meet a nasty marker!) to avoid losing marks unnecessarily.

PS: The network diagram he shown looks familiar to me. The one where Earliest start Latest start and float time are written in 3 different colours de. Is it YZ's script?

7. Bring the normal table
It's not provided, but he'll flash it in class. However if you'd like to attempt the questions yourself before he flashes the answer for you to copy, your own normal table will come in handy.

8. Sit back, relax, enjoy his class.
He is full of crap, and very drama. It looks like I'm attending a play. He may be a little sarcastic at times, but he's nowhere near the HRM lecturer I would say. His lesson is not stressful, yet I find it really useful... Cos he breaks up the question and tells us where each mark of the question will be awarded to... A good way to find out where your missing marks went to and improve on your answer.

I hope the class will be useful for you girls as well :)

Have fun for class next week, and jiayou in mugging!

By the way, I'm thinking of crashing Aug's MSM (Radha) class this coming Monday 8.30am. Anyone interested? It will be the 2nd Radha revision class fyi.

First visit to Horni hse!

Tour packages hunting is tiring de! It's interesting to see how the service people work in the travel industry (in a bad way). Of cos there were exceptions like the 3 stars agencies and some humbler ones. I guess all of us wont be able to forget how Sa treated us. (See mini blog for details). Anyway, in a nutshell, it's still ideal to hunt for tour packages in chinatown. We havent got the time to look thru what we got cos we were busy doing sth underground at horni hse!

Hershey is so cute!! But too bad she misbehaves today..

So we turn to sth else for cheap thrill.. =P

Finally thanks to Horni's mom for that succulent porridge, fried chicken, nuggests and man tou, we really had our fill! Not forgetting the sweet coffee and tea served by horni when we were tired.

However, we onply completed half. Hope the final products would be beautiful to make the receivers gan dong dao!!

P.S. This is the first time corni is the last to slp. It's 435am now and I'm so glad I finish organising my photos albums in this laptop, Phew!! This kind of things cannot accumulate de, xin ku u all le hs and sj in the past, thanks!
