Corni and Horni will be having their revision next week.
And I just had mine few days back.
A little bored now, so thought I'll share about my class and come up with a list of what to expect during his revision.
Initially I thought I got kaki for my class - David.
Even told him I won't mind sitting with his friends...
Xiang-a-zai....
He got like over 10 frens...
Even book seats gotta book 2 half rows of 15 seats. =/
Feels so outnumbered. Haha...
But ok lah, got to know some new friends.... And some Godly people too...
One of David's friend got 25 for the Strategic Choice Question.
You say Godly anot lah!
Then there was this other girl who got 23!!!
Erm David only got 1 mark, cos he only wrote 1 line haha...
But still he's equally freaky... Cos the other 3 section B questions he got 25 21 21.
The most "impressive" thing was.....
He only used 5 pages of the answer booklet!
He even attempted to solve the DEA (we only need to formulate) to make up 5 pages. =/
(Joy may know his handwriting is small until...... He can do 4 decision tree questions on 1 page of foolscap... you get the idea....)
Who sit beside him in exam very sway. Cos sure cannot copy. Haha.
Moving on to Beasley...
He's a real funny guy. Super drama mama (papa).
I'm like laughing away half his lesson...
Here are some things to do in his class.
1. Earn $10
He started my class by playing a song. And the first person who guessed the title correctly wins $10.
The song is All you need is love by Beatles...
After that game, he kept telling us "All you need is 34 - by Beasley"
Anyway...

2. Bring more foolscap
Questions from the mock paper will be given in a handout, together with a few extra questions. But you will need to copy the solutions down... There is not much space in his handouts so foolscap paper is a safe bet.
PS: Remember to bring some graph paper and long ruler too! Will be helpful.
3. Familiarise yourself with his acronyms
He uses a lot of that in class. So pay particular attention to what they stand for in the first hour in class. For example CAO means Correct Answer Only.
4. Enjoy the SNOW!
He tears up pieces of paper into shreds.....
And then throws high up into the sky....
Let it snow let it snow let it snow....
(Wool jackets are not necessary)
5. Avoid the first 3 rows in the LT
He loves to throw the subject guide to bring some point* across. So far there's no casualties, but unless you're wearing a helmet, it's best to avoid the first 3 rows.
*Go see for yourself. I'm saving the spoilers.
(I told you he's very drama)
6. Look out for other people's mistakes on scripts.
He has a practice of showing mistakes from other people's scripts...
Some scripts are real funny...
Corni's script was shown... But no worry, it's a small mistake for yours :)
In case you're curious and kanchiong, no worry. He just said you should write them in order, cos the markers will be looking out for answers in that ABCDEFG order.
He told us the your script is the 1679th script he is marking, it's late into the night, there's a tight time constraint, and he's into his 4th bottle of wine...
Basically, point is : Make things easy for examiners (you won't know when you'll meet a nasty marker!) to avoid losing marks unnecessarily.
PS: The network diagram he shown looks familiar to me. The one where Earliest start Latest start and float time are written in 3 different colours de. Is it YZ's script?
7. Bring the normal table
It's not provided, but he'll flash it in class. However if you'd like to attempt the questions yourself before he flashes the answer for you to copy, your own normal table will come in handy.
8. Sit back, relax, enjoy his class.
He is full of crap, and very drama. It looks like I'm attending a play. He may be a little sarcastic at times, but he's nowhere near the HRM lecturer I would say. His lesson is not stressful, yet I find it really useful... Cos he breaks up the question and tells us where each mark of the question will be awarded to... A good way to find out where your missing marks went to and improve on your answer.
I hope the class will be useful for you girls as well :)

By the way, I'm thinking of crashing Aug's MSM (Radha) class this coming Monday 8.30am. Anyone interested? It will be the 2nd Radha revision class fyi.

First visit to Horni hse!
Tour packages hunting is tiring de! It's interesting to see how the service people work in the travel industry (in a bad way). Of cos there were exceptions like the 3 stars agencies and some humbler ones. I guess all of us wont be able to forget how Sa treated us. (See mini blog for details). Anyway, in a nutshell, it's still ideal to hunt for tour packages in chinatown. We havent got the time to look thru what we got cos we were busy doing sth underground at horni hse!
Hershey is so cute!! But too bad she misbehaves today..
So we turn to sth else for cheap thrill.. =P
Finally thanks to Horni's mom for that succulent porridge, fried chicken, nuggests and man tou, we really had our fill! Not forgetting the sweet coffee and tea served by horni when we were tired.
However, we onply completed half. Hope the final products would be beautiful to make the receivers gan dong dao!!
P.S. This is the first time corni is the last to slp. It's 435am now and I'm so glad I finish organising my photos albums in this laptop, Phew!! This kind of things cannot accumulate de, xin ku u all le hs and sj in the past, thanks!

my HRM Lecturers
I just ended my UOL HRM revision classes today. Ya, on a Sunday. I had class yesterday too. 
I was some how shocked by a couple of things.
1. Character of my UOL HRM lecturer, Jackie (short for Jacqueline)
2. Expectations of Jackie in terms of marking of our paper
On Friday, I heard my friend's friends mention that Jackie really expects students to participate in the revision class. If not she will remain quiet for a very long time. My initial thinking was that she couldn't be all that bad, because somehow lecturers are trained to answer their own questions after a prolonged period of silence. Other than this, they did not really give a positive feedback about her.
Yesterday, I learnt more about her myself.
So far, none of the UOL lecturers gave me a really bad impression or any negative impression. Most of them are capable of delivering a relatively professional image OR at the very least, not creating not professional image. Apparently, Jackie kind of broke this record.
Most of the lecturers urge class participation. They adopt friendly attitudes and
give encouraging comments. This is different with Jackie. When students participate, at times, Jackie gave sarcastic and rude comments when we didn't give the correct answer. Shouldn't it be clear that correcting of wrong concepts and matching of examiners' expectations are the main objectives of UOL revisions? Examples given below.

Example 1
When asked why organisational justice is hard to achieve
me: I can only think of an example.
Jackie: Well, something is better than nothing.
me: For example, if companies keen to do a drug test on employees, it will be ethical for employers to inform employees beforehand (performing interactional justice), but the drug test will not be a fair one. (digress: example given by LOCAL lecturer)
Jackie: What do you mean?
Helpful Classmate: meaning there might not be justice if the employee is sacked because of positive drug test result.
Jackie: So.... You have a problem with that when you get fined $500 for throwing a cigarette butt here?
me and Helpful Classmate: *speechless*
Jackie: In the first place, it is the employee's fault for taking drugs. And I think drug consumption is legal here and companies should report the employee to police or something, instead of just sending him to rehabitation center.
me and Helpful Classmate: *TOTALLY speechless*
digress: Local lecturer told us that it will be good for the company's image or to gain employees' respect and commitment, by not reporting the employee but to send him for rehab instead.
Shock 1: How blunt and sarcastic Jackie was.
Shock 2: Apparently Local lecturer and UOL lecturer don't see eye-to-eye. Who kena? We the poor students.
Example 2
Trying to demonstrate justice is hard to measure
Jackie: Samantha, how could you judge if the prelim paper was marked fairly? *without waiting for Samantha's answer* Oh wait! Perhaps you didn't even sit for the paper! *laughs*
HUH!??!!??! Super question mark can! So she is trying to say that a lot of us didn't go for the prelims and she has a problem with that.
Firstly, it is not wrong to not sit for the prelim paper. She is in no position to judge.
Secondly, at the start of the revision, she informed the class that she has 200 odd more scripts to mark. IF there are so little scripts to mark, why haven she finished marking when the HRM paper is on the 8th March 2008? OR is she exaggerating that she still has 200+ scripts to mark?Either Triple way, she doesn't look good. Regrettably, there are ignorant classmates who laughed along with her without knowing she is shooting us. *SIGH*
Example 3
When she realised many students did not do readings
Jackie: Let me try to motivate you now. You will want to pass your HRM this year. We are consolidating the study materials this year, which means next year, students will be required to study more for the unit. It will be like studying for a whole new unit if you repeat next year. You know you don't want to fail.
Does she really knows the meaning of motivate?

Other instances whereby she demonstrates a lack of professionalism:
My excuse would be that I was sitting in the first row, so more "exposed". I was late today, and she pissed me off so badly yesterday that I was already prepared to shot her back if she asked if I was late. Background: I was late and only went in for class during break. Jackie detest latecomers and had fussed around them (negative way) a bit on Saturday, saying they have disrupted her lessons.
On the other hand, I've got to admit, even though she was annoying, I don't think she is a bad person. In fact, I got the impression that she is just cynical (sarcasm is a norm among cynics) and it has crept into her day-to-day life/ speech. Though I hate to admit, there are question-mark students who went up to Jackie to ask,"Is this question frequently tested?" and "For this topic what kind of questions will come out?".
I would say that she is really strict in terms of language. She doesn't even tolerate the use of "affect" to explain "implications". This shocked me a little too, as this implies that in my HRM exams, I would have to be really careful in my vocabulary. It seems that the expectations of Jackie were different from that of my local lecturer. These 2 days were like crash course for HRM students to retrain ourselves in essay writing so as to do better for the paper. HAIZ. I've gotta mug HARD!

- she constantly, throughout the 2 days, penalise students' language proficiency repeatedly, apparently not in a gentle way. Used words like "horrible", "crappy"

Happy 22nd Birthday, Corni Empress!!!!
Our dearest Corni celebrated her 22nd birthday recently. And it coincidentally fell on Good Friday! The whole of Singapore celebrated for her! LOL!
Anyway, we had a birthday celebration party @ Mini's house but the birthday girl cldnt make it! How high! (It was just an excuse for us to mahjong actually =x) We planned 2 surprises for her at exactly when the clock struck 12am. But the 1st plan wasnt successful and the 2nd plan was pushed back to a later time due to some unforeseen circumstances! LOL! *winks* However, we still managed to give her a surprise nevertheless and we are glad that she's really TOUCHED!

I'm in sim library now, haha, with looni beside me.
Anyway thanks for trying to organise a post-xl bday gathering tml night at mini hse but too bad i cant make it, so sad! haha. u all must enjoy urself then i can feel all your bestest wishes k? Lol.
Since I cant make it, are you guys free for early dinner, say abt 5-6 plus pm in the east this sat? My tuition ends at 12pm in the west and i need to reach airport by 930pm to welcome my parents back. mini, looni and dan are okies as of now. If the rest are okies, then we just meet in the east! haha.
I think u all can discuss abt horni's suggestion about travelling tml night at mini hse too.

After Prelims
HEY HEY~!!! I had just finished my last paper, now with Sijia in library using computers. :D Just ate Yong Tau Foo for lunch. Very satisfied now. :)
I am bored; waiting for food to digest..
PS Looni: MUG HARD!!!! LAST LAP ONLY!!!!!
Last night, after mugging session; while walking to McDonald's.
"Thru Thru.." went my phone. (ok lah, it is actually 藏在微笑里的秘密 lah; but I wanna use "thru thru")
It was Mini.
yada yada yada..
Me: We now on our way to McDonald's for ice-cream.
SJ: HUH? Now? Raining leh. Still eat ice-cream. Not cold ar?

I decided to go gym today after my MSM paper. Somehow, I got the impression that my headaches are due to lack of exercise. It was raining cats and dogs outside Clementi Sports Centre.
Can't see the rain. But it was really raining; not stormy but still rainy. You get the idea.
After my gym session, I usually bathe at the sports center before going off.
My normal showering procedure:
1. Wet hair, body and face
2. Wash face
3. Rinse off facial foam
4. Wash hair
5. Rinse off shampoo
6. Condition hair (if feel like it)
7. Wash body
8. Rinse off shower foam and conditioner (gotta let the conditioner stay on a while for better effect
)
HOWEVER, since it was raining outside + sports center don't have heater, I changed my showering procedure to:
1. Wet face
2. Wash face
3. Rinse off facial foam (until now, body and hair remained dry)
4. Take a deep breath and wet body and hair
5. Wash hair
6. Wash body
7. Take a deep breath and rinse off shampoo and shower foam
It was after my shower that I could feel Clementi's air-conditioning. I almost chattered. (but didn't)
Cold Rating: (out of 5)
Anyway, I am happy after my gym session. Feel refreshed. Hopefully tonight I will sleep better.
Happy me after shower (despite being cold)

Oh, by the way, Clementi gym's toilets are clean and brightly lit. *thumbs up* I should go more often.
Am excited for the shopping trip + sakae end-of-prelims 庆功宴. After 庆功宴 it is back to mugging again. LET'S GAMBATTE!!!!

It's official!
Okies gals, time to tell u all sth.. We're officially together on 27th feb liao. Haha. I'll cherish HIM this time round and hope we will last. =)
Hope everyone is still healthy and mugging well. I've been coughing since last week and saw doc liao, or not very nice to disturb ppl durin exam, keep coughing, haha. These weeks when there is no school and I didnt see u all, got miss me? Haha. This is the 3rd week into independence and got some hiccups here and there but I realise parents are really indispensible, be it physically or emotionally. Now I can understand them more. Being parents arent really easy.
Just to share some thoughts:
They were the ones to teach us speak the first word and yet we talk back at them now.
They were the ones to teach us how to walk and yet we want to walk away from them.
The were the ones to teach us how to wear shirt and tie shoelace and yet we say their taste is lousy.
They were the ones to teach us how to eat and yet we say their cooking is not nice.
They were the ones who do so much for us and yet..

This is the 3rd week into independence and got some hiccups here and there but I realise parents are really indispensible, be it physically or emotionally. Now I can understand them more. Being parents arent really easy.
Just to share some thoughts:
They were the ones to teach us speak the first word and yet we talk back at them now.
They were the ones to teach us how to walk and yet we want to walk away from them.
The were the ones to teach us how to wear shirt and tie shoelace and yet we say their taste is lousy.
They were the ones to teach us how to eat and yet we say their cooking is not nice.
They were the ones who do so much for us and yet..

High High into the sky!
Urm Urm...I went for MAYDAY's events today! Yes, super sinful but cant help it! While Jia and the other IM-ers were fighting their IM paper, I was self-highing at Mayday's events! Woots!
I won a design-a-cheer for SuperBand 2 and earned myself a chance to attend the press conference at Meritus Mandarin!!! Mayday is the ambassador for Superband 2 so of course I must try my luck and pray that I will win! Haha! Only 20 lucky winners and also get to take grp photo too!

Mayday and I! I cropped the other ppl out cos I wanna make it only Mayday and me! HAHAA! *evil grin* I'm really very lucky. I was the first batch of 10 to take with Mayday and we were to arrange ourselves nicely before Mayday slotted themselves in. And when I saw Ashin slotted him next to me, I was HIGH! If only it was 怪兽, I think I will hyperventilate. HAHA!
P.S: YY, pls dont kill me! =X

P.S: Peifen was one of the 3 hosts too but I dont really like her so didnt take a pix with her. =x
Then, went down to Bugis for the Auto Ticket Session. Was kinda sad cos there wasnt any live performance. It's so not-Mayday without a LIVE performance. But I must say the 4 of them are great at 炒气氛-ing! Everyone was just so high and it was really funny seeing the other 3 making fun of 冠佑! Poor him, he was sabo-ed to sing 3 songs LIVE without any music! And it was damn damn funny seeing them trying so so so so so hard to speak in English and Singlish. Really can rolllll.....
Peifen was the host but I think she cldnt really cut in and converse with the others. Different frequency. Poor thing.
MAYDAY w/o Stone. (Stone cldnt come cos his little Stone is sick. =( Hope he's all well!)

Mayday flying back tml le which is ideal cos I can go back to my studies again. Their trip this time is short and sweet! Hehe! Think they know I'm having my mocks. (that's why =X) Will be sending them off b4 my mugging @ airport starts again! =)
