After watching Lust, Caution, I had some 'afterlust' (root word: aftermath) from the movie. No doubt it is a great movie (not coz of the xxx scenes) and I seriously liked the plot. In fact, I think that the movie still is great even without the xxx scenes. Nevertheless the xxx scenes had successfully managed to make Lee Ang a lot richer though.
Anyway, come to think about it, Wang Jiazhi (acted by Tang Wei) is quite a pitiful character. She joined Kuang Yumin's (played by Wang Leehom) drama society just as a CCA. In the end had to participate in some nationalistic activities which resulted in her being deflowered by some drama society mate, whom sex partners only consisted of hookers. This is like being free hooker for the guy, in my opinion. What's worse is that at that point of time, Wang Jiazhi and Kuang Yumin had some subtle mutual feelings for each other. However, Kuang Yumin did not volunteer to do the deflowering.
After losing contact for 3 years, Kuang Yumin sought out Wang Jiazhi so as to continue their 'project' in seducing Mr Yee (played by Tony Leong) so as to eventually kill him. This is like meeting up with your "ambiguous friend" (搞暧昧 friend) only to know that he wants to borrow money from you. Eventually Wang Jiazhi did manage to successfully seduce Mr Yee and even gained the trust of the latter. Maybe it is foreign to guys (species which was rumoured to be able to separate sex and love), but to most (nowadays, changing time, cannot use 'all') girls, sex generally equates love. It is hard for a girl to engage in long term sexual intimacy without developing any feelings for the guy. Moreover, Mr Yee did express to Wang Jiazhi that he trusted her in some aspects. Girls also have a soft spot for guys who showed their weaknesses, otherwise more commonly known as motherly instincts. Hence it is no wonder that Wang Jiazhi starts to sway from her mission and develop feelings for Mr Yee.
In the end, the mission was a failure due to Wang Jiazhi telling on the Kuang Yumin and gang to Mr Yee. Kuang Yumin and gang (including Wang Jiazhi) were all shot; leaving behind a seemingly emotionally torn Mr Yee.
Should Kuang Yumin was the one who had deflowered Wang Jiazhi and had shown her a bit more tender loving care, the mission would have been successful. Wang Jiazhi would have been more focused and not end up having feelings for Mr Yee.
And anyone out there interested to learn Japanese... heehee, its the post-syndrome of watching too much Jap Dramas. Damn nice lah! Especially Hana Yori Dango (aka Liu Xing Hua Yuan)!!! Anyone wanna watch can borrow from me after i burn them, heh heh... i downloaded both part 1 & 2 of the jap version. ;)
